Researchers from Stuttgart University Visited SJTU

On October 8, Prof. Paul Levi and Dr. Ralf Regele visited Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU). Prof. Paul Levi is the Head of Department Image Understanding, Institute of Parallel and Distributed Systems (IPVS). The Stuttgart University is one of the SJTU's partners in the European CyberCars-2 Project.

In the morning, Prof. Paul Levi and Dr. Ralf Regele first visited the Research Institute of Robotics located in the XuHui Campus of SJTU. Prof. Ming YANG from Department of Automation and some PhD students introduced their latest works on intelligent vehicles, including vision navigation, magnet navigation, control, etc.

In the afternoon, Prof. Paul Levi and Dr. Ralf Regele went to the MinHang Campus of SJTU with Prof. Ming YANG, and visited the Department of Automation. During this visit, Prof. Ming YANG first introduced SJTU, C3 Group, and main research areas. Then, Prof. Paul Levi introduced the research work in the Institute of Parallel and Distributed Systems, especially on RoboCup and simulation of multi-vehicle cooperation.

After the discussion, several demonstrations were given by the C3 group, including the CyberSmart vehicle, C3 vehicle, and simulation of an intelligent crossing.
