On November 1, Dr. Michel Parent, key staff of the CyberC3 project from INRIA, visited Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU). Dr. Parent is the project leader of IMARA group in INRIA (Institut National de Recherche en Informatique et en Automatique), the coordinator of the EC CyberCars Project.
In the morning, Dr. Parent first visited the Research Institute of Robotics (RIR) located in the XuHui Campus of SJTU. Prof. Ruqing YANG from RIR, Prof. Ming YANG from Department of Automation, and some PhD students introduced their latest works on vision navigation, magnet navigation, laser navigation, planning and control, central control system, VR simulation, etc. Two outdoor demonstrations on vision navigation and magnet navigation were made in the university campus. During the discussion, Dr. Parent gave some valuable suggestions to the students.
In the afternoon, Mr. Parent went to the MinHang Campus of SJTU with Prof. Ming YANG, and visited the Department of Automation. Some students in the lab introduced their latest works on communication, HMI, camera calibration, site study, etc. Some suggestion from Dr. Parent were also given during discussion.
